Venetian or roller blinds?
Start with what you want to change: a view in from the street, afternoon glare or a bedroom that needs to be darker. Different windows in the same home may need different solutions.

Tilting Venetian slats changes the direction of light and the degree of privacy without raising the whole blind. This can help you keep daylight while reducing views into the room. The viewing angle matters: someone at street level and someone in an upper-floor window see different things.
A roller blind covers the window with a continuous fabric. Choose it for the light and privacy you need. Light-filtering fabric does not automatically provide enough privacy after dark with the room lights on. Look at a sample in your own lighting.
Let the room guide the choice
At a desk, reducing screen reflections while keeping useful working light matters. In a living room, softer daylight and a connection outdoors may be the priority. In a bedroom, consider fitting and edge gaps as well as the fabric.
Look beyond colour. Think about when you use the room, where sunlight enters and whether you want to see outside while the blind is in use. A home visit lets you compare samples with the furniture and window frames.
Check the actual window
Opening windows, handles, fixing surfaces and available clearance affect where a blind can go. Fitting Venetian blinds between panes is not possible in every window. A roller or cassette also needs space.
