Bedroom blackout: fabric is only part of the answer
During Finland's bright nights, a small gap can feel surprisingly noticeable in a bedroom. Separate the light coming through the fabric from the light passing around it.

Blackout fabric is intended to block light passing through the material. It does not by itself promise a completely dark room. Light can still enter at the sides, top and bottom, or through other openings in the room.
A sample therefore shows the material, not the result across the whole window. A home visit also needs to consider how far the covering can extend above and beside the opening.
Edges, opening windows and obstacles
Mounting inside a recess and mounting in front of it create different coverage. Sufficient overlap can reduce direct light around edges, but wall space, handles and opening windows may limit the position.
The suitability of side channels or other construction details must be checked separately. They are not a feature of every roller blind. Complete blackout should not be promised without assessing the window and proposed solution.
Describe how you use the bedroom
You may want less light on summer nights, better conditions for naps or daytime darkening for shift work. Explain what bothers you about the current covering and where the light enters, so the comparison focuses on the right need.
Daily use matters too: do you open the window every day, and how often will you raise the blind? Andreas checks fitting and production dimensions before ordering. A photo helps prepare the visit but does not replace measuring.
Before your home visit
You can send a photo of the whole window, space around it and the current covering. Say when you need darkness. The visit and quotation do not promise a particular level of blackout before the solution has been assessed.
